Overloading Re-Volt with Pick-Ups

I'll give a short explanation about overloading the game with Pick-Ups. You'll need a copy of the game, activated cheat code and any kind of macro key utility.

About

If you're a fan of radio-controlled car racing games, you've probably heard about Re-Volt, made by Acclaim Entertainment back in 1999.

It's probably one of the best racing games ever, and it still works after 15 or more years, though under different conditions, as in under the name of RVGL, the rewrite of Re-Volt game.

Back to the part about overloading process.

Cheat

Re-Volt has a few cheats to use. For this thing to work, we'll use "SADIST", as it allows you to switch Pick-Ups using right Shift key. If you already have a Pick-Up, it will cycle to next kind of Pick-Up.

To activate the code, go to the name selection, enter the code as the name and confirm it. You should hear some squeaky noise. Go back to name selection to set your own name. The cheat will be active until you quit the game.

At this point, you're ready, pick a track and have fun.

Loaded set of fake pickups

With provided cheat code, you can use a large amount of fake pick-ups at the same place. Don't touch it unless you want to fly up.

Macros

To do rapid firing of Pick-Ups, you'll need to use some tool for macro keys.

I'm using Logitech Gaming Software 9.02 with my G710+ keyboard to make few macro keys that can do rapid firing in very short time.

Fire toggle macro is set to constantly activate pickups and reload them.

You need to make a macro key that takes a keystroke to switch Pick-Ups and a keystroke to fire the selected Pick-Up. Make sure to set the delay between keystrokes for at least 0.025 seconds, as it won't register keystroke properly if it goes lower than that.

Some Pick-Ups can be used 3 times. In that case, you need to add firing keystroke at least 3 times in a row.

If you want to cycle through all Pick-Ups, you'll have to add at least 2 switch keystrokes instead of only one.

Demonstration

You can check the demonstration of this overload here. If you want to see how macro keys are configured, go to 23:44 in the video.

Things can get crazy if there is a lot of cars in a small space.

Rant

The actual "Re-Volt" game has been ruined by WeGo Interactive. I've tried playing the Re-Volt game they published on Play Store long time ago... damn thing ruined everything with it. It doesn't even work well. Also, fucking bloat with IAPs and ads and all junk.

The good thing is that RVGL is also available on Android, so you don't have to worry with other bootleg versions of Re-Volt. In general, stay away from any commercialized variant of this game, stick with community based.
